Tears Of My Mother

Not a flower that can compare, not another woman as fair,
As the one whom I call my “mother.” The love that I feel, the wounds she heals, I could never transfer another. It isn’t normal love that keeps us together, but the bonds we’ve built and the storms that we weather. She is the entity, in my soul that shall never depart, having stilled the growing pains of my fickle heart.

None other, than my mother, can make me stand still in fright. Tis’ the will of a mother, whose kids she will smother under the stones of her might. There isn’t a star as high, way up in the sky that evokes as much awe as you. Not a woman on this earth, who could have watched me from birth, who took more interest in me while I grew.

Not a thing in this world, besides my mother, that I could ever need so badly. From beginning to end with you, my life I would spend, as long I know that you’re happy. You were able to save me from my plight, and there is not a sight in this world that will cause me to suffer, more than seeing the tears of my mother.

I love the fact that your mother inspired you to write this poem. It reminds me so much of my own mom. Beautiful descriptions of all the sacrifices mothers make every day of their lives. And I'm happy to notice that I'm not the only one who thinks "'tis" is not an outdated word.
