Sometimes It's Too Hard

I don’t want to go back;
I’m not ready.

I don’t want to see the faces,
See the stress and pressure,
The frustration,
As if success will actually make a difference.

I don’t want to see the smiles,
See the jokes and the laughter,
The joy,
As if they’re really happy.

I don’t want to see the cries,
See the shock and suspicion,
See the betrayal,
As if life is no longer worth it.

I don’t want to go back;
I’m not ready.
