A Sense of Numbness Froze Her Body
A sense of numbness froze her body –
In the steaming tub of water.
Her fingers brushing against the white lilies,
A sigh crept out of her lips –
A dream of a dying soul:
Choking, trembling memories are
Trickling down her bony cheeks.
Dreaming of flamboyant youth –
Golden sunflowers and rainbow butterflies fill her vision.
Developing from an agonizing birth, her
Darker days eclipsing –
Closing her eyes,
And with a smile of pain,
The gasp of a last breath was her fain.
