People are like stained-glass windows.
They sparkle and shine when the sun is out,
but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed
only if there is a light from within.

I want to lay with you. In my bed with your arms wrapped around my frame, your nose tickling the back of my neck.

I want to lay with you. On crisp clean sheets, the only light penetrating the darkness of my room coming from the moon through my open window.

I want to lay with you. In a quiet place, free of distraction, bodies pressed together, acting as one, while you sleep and I stare off into space.

I want to lay with you. Because when I’m with you, my thoughts don’t jumble together to the point they strangle me. Because when I’m with you, the silence is a comforting friend and not a vicious beast ready to strike. Because when I’m with you, the sadness is held at bay.

I want to lay with you. Because I love you.

I want to lay you.

It was as if it was a thought that bloomed from a long forgotten seed. It's about this moment that I shared with someone that I care about deeply but am too afraid to expose these emotions swirling inside of me, so I write them down instead.
