"Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world." -Harriet Tubman

You didn't think it could happen
You didn't know it would
How could you
when you turn the other way
neglect to say
what needed to be said
But it's too late now
His mind was made
What would've happened
If it played out differently?

You never seemed to notice the way
he sat alone at lunch.
You never seemed to pay attention
never seemed to care much.
People only listen when
it's too late
when their voices can't be heard.

So you can turn a blind eye
to everything in plain sight.
And you can go about your business
but you know it wouldn't be right
Because before you know it
when all is said and done
nobody has any say
once he's dead and gone
