Tell me you understand
I was smaller than him
Yet he hit me
He laughed when I cried, and told me to die
Did I do something wrong?
He touched me, he felt me
There’s fear in my eyes
But nobody believes, nobody hears my cries
They just tell me I’m full of lies
Will you take my hand?
Can you tell me you understand?
Can you hold me tonight?
Can you tell me it will be alright?
He came after me
Day after day
I had no escape
To him it was a game
He treated me like dirt
He just loved to see me hurt
More and more fears
More and more tears
I cry and I cry
As time passes by
I take out the knife
Wishing I’d die.
Can you hold me?
Squeeze me tightly
If not, can you at least
Try and protect me?
I’m scared and lonely
I just need your company
Just take my hand
Please tell me you understand
Please, just be my friend
