I.
the rain thumps along the screen door
creating a steady head bobbing beat
as the men in suits zip down
the rain slicked streets in early morning.
Listening to slow jams and power ballads,
he dreams about a woman that is not his wife.


II.
The chalk shopping mall is connected to the chalk grocery market which is connected to the chalk bank and then of course the chalk candy store—
it is dinnertime and dad indulges his dream of world destruction
with a water hose, of course

III.
Her legs are pasty with sunscreen.
She turns on the twenty-minute timer.
The droplets of water tickle
Is this what plants feel like?

IV.
Lexus SUVs can become convertibles.

1. Double the speed limits. Add 10.
2. Roll down all the windows.
3. Plan bass drop at stoplight.

V.
you got a little something on your chin
don’t wet the napkin with your spit.
