Unheard Screams
From the back of the truck, people could be heard screaming.
Not anywhere else in the truck.
From the back of the truck, hazy figures gaped at and choked everything that moved.
Not anywhere else outside the truck.
From the back of the truck, violence reigned, a dictatorship.
Not anywhere else in the world…?

This is personally my favorite piece. I originally received an assignment for a poem in my writing class, and it escalated from there. I never knew what I meant until I read it... then re-read it. I was surprised at what had come out of my own unconscious system.
