Dearest Curiosity

Dearest Curiosity,
You tickle me so
You rest upon my back
And I am unable to reach you
The itch you give me grows
And grows
Until no longer can I withstand
Your perseverance
And so I must scratch
I must itch
I must find a way to relieve myself
Of your incurable rash
Like a stubborn
Spoiled
Child
You nag me
Badger me
Pester me ruthlessly
Until you chisel my will
Down
Down
Down
To nothing
And I collapse
I give in
I cave to your requests
But yet
Through your irritating
Aggravating
Endless
Wants and wishes
My affection for you remains
Unbreakable
indestructible
for why I do not know
but when I’m with you
when you’re around
the world is simple
the people are pure
the colors are vivid
and once again
I am a child
Because
Dear
Dearest curiosity
You,
You keep me young.
