A Rainstorm in October
I fell in love in a rainstorm,
kissing rain-dropped roses
against the roar of the tumultuous, grey sea.
Pulling her close,
I hid her from the autumn downpour.
She tucked herself in my red jacket, heavy and dark.
Somehow we were warm.
Forever warm, I knew.
I love you, I yelled into her hair.
I knew it then.
When did it end?
