I wonder what becomes
Of those who care
And drown
In altruism, unreturned.
Choking on fear
Of unconditional love
And empathy, ungranted.
Losing control of sound and motion,
Trips you underground
Under the tender
Skin of your heart.
Falling head over heels
Plunging into the unknown,
And hot tears
Erupt in your tear ducts.
Anger revolts against kindness,
As hot lava streams in your arteries.
You wish you were asleep instead.
You find no sense in sensibility
Hearing the thundering
Cracks inside your chest.
Perhaps apologies,
Sweet nothings of the cool
And peaceful sort,
Have the potential of reception
In forgiveness.
