Love is anterior to life, posterior to death, initial of creation, and the exponent of breath.
-Emily Dickinson

I wish love of
the present
could take away
the pain of the past
Bring forth
new hope and happiness
for the future

I wish
we could forget the past
our mistake
tearing us apart
Trying so hard
To mend it back
with tape

You fear no love
You took from me
Shattered the glass
in my hands
Bleeding out
my heart
on the floor

I wish you would
forgive yourself
and find love or
finding no fault
in me
I wish you could embrace
the fact you know
I love you yet

You will not see
The future
won't hindered
by our past
I wish you would
love me present
Like you did
so long past
forget the mistake
after past before present

I wish you would
allow your love
shine through
look at me
like you used to
forget
what you think you
did to me

I wish you could
let me
take all the pain
Instead of trapping me
Trying to protect me
killing me
Instead
