muster your strength,
all that you have,
to reflect on how much you've grown.
hear the birds sing,
admire their wings --
you have a pair of your own.
feel the warmth on your skin
of the sun's sweet rays,
shining despite sticks and stones.
take my hand in yours.
together we'll endure
life without being alone.
touch your wrist.
can you feel that?
you're alive, you've survived.
and if that's not enough
to spark the drive deep inside,
i truly don't know what is.
