It hurts, but it hurt all along
I’ve denied it for so long
But these tears on my cheeks can’t tell you lies
They are reminiscent of those lies
My broken heart I’ve hid from all
Hid the pain from myself
A shot through the chest is less
But you gave me this instead
And I denied it for so long
But my tears can’t lie
This pain is no lie
I love you still
And that hurts the worst
I know what you want
I know you don’t want me
So I’ll leave you once again
I’ll leave you be
Though it hurts so much I’ll say it
Goodbye once more
Goodbye forever more
Because broken hearts never truly say goodbye.
