Sinners Kingdom

We make believe
that we are pure.
We pursue a falsehood
an ideal,
that is utterly unattainable.
I ask you how you believe in a heaven
when we both know
deep inside that if there is one,
we wont be invited.
We're sinners where it really counts,
but in our castle of whipped cream and pixie dust,
we pretend that we never made mistakes.
For one to dig up despairs,
in our sanctuary of dreams,
would be nothing short of high treason.
So we keep our lips sewn shut,
as we sit upon our melting thrones
and pretend to be anything but alone.
