Favorite Quote:
I have hated the words and I have loved them, and I hope I have made them right.
-Marcus Zusak, The Book Thief

You wear a gilded mask
to hide your blackened eyes
You hide the thing that you've become
beneath your glimmering disguise

To dissuade them from your words
You brocade yourself in gold
You can tell where you are headed
with your silver heart so cold

Still you place the crown atop your head
And you cast away your doubts
But yet, inside, a voice still cries
Let the real me out!

You can pretend that you don't hear it
You can pretend you're fine
But all that glitters has never been gold
and silver tarnishes in time
