i no longer wish to live
in your shadow,to
run ten paces behind
you,to bask in the shade
of your accolade.
why am i never the
best and the brightest?why
am i never the source
of your envy?why
am i never the
example?
your platinum is displayed
it chokes me
up with belligerence,the sad fact that
i could always grasp
the cusp,but
never firmly hold it
in my palm.
everyone wants more
and more and more and
nothing is good enough ever and
i do not want to
live in your shadow anymore.
