Candles to Flames This work has been published in the Teen Ink monthly print magazine.

You think candles are
beautiful, peaceful, serene, soothing, calming

You think fire is
uncontrollable, devastating, catastrophic, disastrous

But darling, when my candle grows to a fire,
when my flames lick farther and higher,
when the torch drops to the ground
and engulfs you in the sound
of the crackling of my flames
licking farther and higher,
trap you as a pawn in my games,
and I begin to conduct the songs of my choir,

You will long, you will yearn,
for the beautiful, peaceful, serene, soothing, calming
lullaby of my candle,
the one easiest to handle,
the one harmless to the touch,
the flame that will never grow into much.

I like it a lot, maybe try to keep the rhyming scheme a little more consistant, for instance, sometimes it seems to be ABAB then others its AABB and sometiems it doesn't rhyme.  Other than that it was really good, and the rhyming thing is just a personal preference, whatever you like for your writing style you do!
