Eyes averted,
Darting
Or lost in a better place
Far from this
Ocean stretched wide and unforgiving
We swim
And flail
No light to illuminate
Just walking blindly
Into wall after wall
Of darkened rooms
Searching for meaning
To this never-ending climb
Flip the switch
Only to find
The answer inches
From the burned bridges of our noses
That there is none.
