United States Marine Corps
I found my poem
At the end of a barrel,
Of a cop’s 9mm beretta handgun
Right before I got arrested.
Everything happened by chance.
My friends and I were just shooting pellet guns
At random things in the forest.
We were arrested, and given 40 hours of community service
My Friend thought we could get them done with his recruiter,
But we couldn’t.
Instead we started talking to him about the marines,
I became interested,
Started asking questions,
And talked for at lest an hour.
3 weeks later…
I was enlisted in
The United States Marine Corps.
I was lucky.
Something bad and stressful
Led me to do the best possible thing for my life.
