I remember the fear in her eyes
I remember the hate in his
I remember the temperature of my tears
I remember the way my hands would shake
I remember my mom lying there; beat
I remember my dad gone most nights.

Then i remember driving away in a stranger’s car, and things got better

I remember reuniting with my mom, i cried
I remember the way the world completely BROKE my heart as i watched her relapse
I remember waiting alone for her to come home, praying she'd be sober
I remember her limp stagger, falling like she way pulled by 7 different strings

Then i remember driving away in a stranger’s car, and things got better

I remember she slowly got better
I remember she got stronger
I remember growing with her
I LIVE the everyday struggle and watch what she has become; she has come out better than ever.
I truly believe ill never again; drive away in stranger’s car so things can get better.
