That evening in July
My heart became a flame
To burn within Your Heart
Ignited by Your Love.

That evening in July
I knew I’d never change
You are the Only One
Who can complete my soul.
That evening in July,
You showed me the way.
You gave me the light
To see my own darkness.

That evening in July
You gave me Yourself.
Now I give You myself
To be Yours Alone.

That evening in July
You showed me Your Love
An all-consuming fire
Setting the world ablaze.

I saw how much You want me
Though I rejected Your Heart
The hurt behind Your Eyes
Vanished when I said yes.

That evening in July
I finally understood
Why You wouldn’t let me go

The author's comments:
This piece is about (or rather for) God. It's about a night in my life that really changed me. I know not everyone believes in God but on the night that I wrote this poem about, I totally felt God's love and it was the most powerful and amazing experience for me.
