I Don't Hear

I don’t hear the sound of the telephone ringing
I don’t hear the sound of the radio playing
I don’t hear the birds outside my window go “tweet, tweet, tweet” in the frosty morning air
I don’t hear the loud blare of my alarm clock warning me it’s time to get up
I don’t hear the noise of the child upstairs causing a fray
I turn over and say, “Ugh, it’s Monday”
