Don’t love me.
If you do, it will screw everything up.
If you love me, our friendship would be tainted, crooked, different.
I don’t want that.
I don’t want to ever consider looking at you as more than a friend.
If you love me, we’ll never be able to go back to ‘just friends’.
If you love me, I’ll start to think of you as something that could be.
I’ve done that before.
When I do that, things don’t work out the way I want them to.
I love the way I can look over to you and see you smiling at me.
I love that smile.
That smile that covers nearly your whole face and makes me smile real too.
I love the way my laugh sounds when I’m laughing at one of your jokes.
I love the way I’m me when I’m with you.
I love how I don’t have to think what to say, but just say it and know you will accept me for who I am.
I love how I look at you and don’t feel any need, any want.
I love how you’re just my friend.
How you’re just an idea, an opportunity.
You’re my friend; I don’t want to ruin that.
So please don’t love me.
