a simple price to pay
A light shines in the distance
It compels me forward.
But still I fall short of who I want see,
That is, the one person who is so beloved to me.
I cannot see this light,
It is too bright to see,
Because lovely beauty blinds me.
Now I sit here, thinking
“Is she who I find to love?”
Yes.
Although I cannot see her,
I’ve been taken of my sight
And breath stolen,
She has killed me oh so sweetly.
And that may just be the price to pay.
