I feed the paper
with words as if it is
a Wild Thing

Watching it chew the nouns
with vowels stuck in between
its sharp teeth

As I pretend
to be a wolf
by putting a piece of cloth

over my head
Not blinking once
as I stare into its yellow eyes

making me the
King of All
Wild Things.

Maurice Sendak 1928 - 2012. He was the author of Where The Wild Things Are and I want to thank him for letting me express my feelings through every page of his books.
