I sit reading at my chest,
Turning pages with unrest.
A voice calls out a name to me
Mine name followed by
“Can you help me?”
Turning cogs and wheels
in my head begin to reel.
A call for help or easy con
My choice is up
How do I respond?
I take in a face that I know
We share a smile, eyebrow and cheekbone.
But our methods don’t add up.
Pull and tug of what to do
Help her or not.
A project that was saved till last,
Constantly forgotten in the past.
She wants my words,
But not to learn.
What would you do?
Turning pages with unrest.
