Reflection

As I stand beside her,
I catch a glimpse of me
Through the mirror.

I can't bear to face
This beauty ruined by my deformity,
So instead I admire her grace.

Pale ivory skin encompasses
A perfectly slender frame,
Contrasting with long dark tresses.

My eyes flit to my unsightly picture:
Yellow skin, yellow hair untamed;
A stocky, disproportionate creature.

My eyes brim with tears
As disgust fills my gut;
My thoughts are reinforced.

I remove the ugly imperfection;
The picture is flawless
Without my own repulsive reflection.
