Switchboard Love
My room is pitch black in the middle of the day
I know you’re gone, but I beg you just to stay
Now my nerves overpower what I pray
Every second you aren’t here is lost time
What we had was more than a switch board
You DON’T know me
I would burn my diary
I have to remember
You’re icy wall of rejection buried my unsteadiness
You didn’t care
Do I speak in puzzles, or do you have a carbon copy mind?
You say I’m timid
I don’t love easily, I don’t trust easily
I loved and trusted you with everything I had
You shattered my glass heart and left it in the freeway
