Hurts
I can shrug it off
I can keep pretending
But it still hurts
I long for it
Yearn for the warm feeling
But it never comes
Each years it it grows
And worsens on this day
It never gets better
I thought I had a theory
Something to fix it
But it didn’t work
So still it grows
Further into my heart
Darkening it each year
I can shrug it off
I can keep pretending
But it still hurts
