Betrayal

It’s easier for you to walk away,
Then to stay by my side through all the pain.
It’s easier for you to look away,
Then to see the depths of my despair.
It’s easier for you to ignore me,
Then it is to talk about the things that are important.
It’s easier for you to hate me for what I do,
Then it is to love me for who I am.
Maybe, one day, you will realize that what is easy is not always the best.
Maybe, one day, you will realize that ignoring me makes the pain worse.
Maybe, one day, you will realize that hating me is worse than the things I do.
But until then,
You will continue to hurt me to the core of my existence,
I want to make you stay by my side,
Make you be there with me through all the pain.
I want to make you look at me,
Make you see the depths of my despair.
I want to make you pay attention to me,
Make you talk to me about the things that are important.
I want to make you stop hating the things I do,
Make you love me for who I am.
Since I can’t make you do anything,
I will ask you one thing.
Will you be crying for me when you see you’re too late to help?
And if you do cry for me,
You will realize all I wanted was
Someone to understand me,
Someone to help me,
Someone to talk to,
Someone to love me.
I bet it felt good, leaving me behind.
You can stop crying now, I don’t need you anymore.
You don’t need to be worried, I won’t tell.
And soon nobody will even remember,
The betrayal of the girl who just wanted to be loved.

Thank you so very much. I sometimes struggle with the feeling that I am the only one who ever experiences this stuff. It makes me glow inside to know that I can connect to a reader like that.
