Helloiloveyou.

Hello.
I love you.
Your eyes water me
and your laugh shakes me until all my apples
fall to the ground and I'm left to frantically
gather them back.
I'm sorry you have a cold.
I would make you
a cup of raspberry tea and cinnamon cookies
But I can't
because
I'd rather
watch you from the shadows
safely concealed by crowds
of stupid girls and smelly sneakers.
I'm sorry
but I'm scared to say much to you
because when I'm near you
my tongue ties in a bow
and my heart hurts.
We're different.
But not that different
I hope.
We both have noses
and eyes
and smiles for when we are happy.
And I know I'm never
ever
going to give this to you.
So.
I want you to know that yours is my favorite
kind of smile
because it is warm and bright and real.
And when you laugh
your shoulders shake.
And your shoes are very clean.
Mine are a bit muddy
because
I danced in the rain this morning
at the bus stop.
You shook your head and with your eyes
you told me you'd love to join me.
But you never did.
At least I made you smile.
When you look at me sometimes
it makes my heart hurt
but I'm not sure why.
I doubt that
you
like me.
Not many people do.
But everyone likes you.
You are you.
You are special.
