We Never Met

I think of it every
now and then,
what would it be like
if we had met..
Thinking now--
seeing me as an infant,
watching me succeed in school,
listening to my first concert,
sharing stories of the good old days.
It's not like that though,
never will be.
We never met,
we will someday
