Strangers (A message from me, to the former you. The you before us.)
Tick tok goes the hand on the clock
Time is passing, my thoughts are not
Up and down the sun comes and goes
Being with you, was like a dark red rose
Thorns on the outside, beauty within
Pain even deeper, reality sinks in
Memories shared together, lost in anger
Two years from now, we'll just be strangers
Insecurities eating my conscious alive
Do we really deserve the pain we cause inside
Young hearts torn in a battle of emotions
May love bring us peace, not daily implosions
Letters in my dresser, talking about forever
Naive young minds, pursuing lustful pleasures
People say it all the time, but it's lost it's appeal
True love is unfathomable, absolutely unreal
Worried about the future and what it will bring
Struggling with the fact you still wear wear your promise ring
Because you broke that promise to the ones you love most
And I took your innocence before you could say no
Problems amplified by breaking that vow
Sex brought us closer but has destroyed us now
My heart still aches and it yearns for your love
But for now I'll keep quiet and watch from above.
Tick tok goes the hand on the clock
Time is passing, my thoughts are not
Up and down the sun comes and goes
Being with you, was like a dark red rose
Thorns on the outside, beauty within
Pain even deeper, reality sinks in
Memories shared together, lost in anger
Two years from now, we'll just be strangers
But one day from now, if our fates intertwine
I hope you remember me and all the good times.
Cherish your loved ones and always respect them
Forever in my heart, you will stay a blessing.
