When I was little
I moved three times in
One year.
I was scared
About the newness
Of it all.
I would make new friends
At one school.
Then lose them at the
Next.
I moved on.
Like all the good and fun times
Meant nothing
To my parents.
I felt lonely
Deserted
and empty
I felt sad
Low
and cheerless
I felt scared
anxious
and troubled.
I didn’t know what they were getting me into.
