I Looked and Saw Myself

I looked into the threads of your soul
I looked and saw the tendrils
Pulling stretching feeling along and they’re blind
but what are eyes to the senseless?
O, God! I looked into the threads of your soul
and saw myself there ensnared
Pulling writhing biting aching
oh it feels not!
Calling weeping begging pleading
oh and it hears not!

I faint, slack in these arms
they cover every surface
they are around me inside me throughout me
I become them
I am bound to creep in the recesses of your innards

I fell to never hit solid ground again
and I’m expected to stand my own?
