Twas not long ago
When the world was new
And young and bright
Full of the terrible thing
That which cripples
Haunts and hurts
Which freezes the senses
And blinds the eyes
Found in fury and madness
In peace and contentment
Cruelly destructive
Sickly sweet
Last to leave Pandora’s Box
Last to see day’s new light
That terrible thing
Hope
