A device for marking tempo
Keeping time
Back and
Forth
Day by day
Waving as time
Passes by
Everyday
Finally
Slowing down
So maybe time
Could say hello
And we could get to know
Each other
And maybe have a cup
Of coffee
Until someone comes
And winds me up
Again
Because they need me
To keep time for them
Until they can package
Me up
And put me back on
The shelf
And time finally
Stops
And I realize
I have nothing useful
To say
