Brown grains cover your body,
Green stains overshadow the sand,
Grass makes laundry a hobby,
Home is nothing but a patch of land

Smell of freshly cut grass,
The look of recently dragged dirt,
Put life’s’ problems,
All in the past

POP! Goes a glove,
Ping! Echoes a bat,
Simple sounds of household noises,
Very few other voices

“Hum in it there”,
“Get off me, ball”,
Conversation of fellow brothers,
During spring, summer or fall

Home is a genuine place,
Where boys turn into men,
Moving from base to base,
Until they’re called upon again.
