The Broken Ones

There is that one thing in the world
That can kill
Or can save
It’s love.
No one can see it
No one can ever be sure
It’s even true
But when you feel it
You never want it to leave
Like mine did.
Her poor soul
Gone forever from this world
Nothing left
But an imprint on my heart
A part of me is now empty
And always will be.
Waiting for the missing piece to return
But I know it’s not coming back ever
Her spirit lies above
With the others
While the other halves lie here
With me
And the rest of the broken ones.
