Favorite Quote:
A man's interest in a single bluebird is worth more than a complete but dry list of the fauna and flora of a town.
~Thoreau~

That Awkward Moment
Our feet dangle
Swaying Freely
As Cars Roll under
On the Freeway

Sitting Laughing
Staring into your eyes
At this moment
It’s my demise

Blood Rushing
To My Brain
Makes my heart pound
Drowned out the pain

The awkward pain
Of my first lips
The joyous moment
Of our First Kiss

The author's comments:
I wrote this after a first date with my new girlfriend. It has always seemed awkward to me, to kiss someone you truely enjoy for the first time, and this poem was meant to represent that awkward joy.
