My Temporary Escape

When the blade cuts through my skin
letting the blood pour from my wrists
the pain bleeding with it
That’s my temporary escape
Allowing me to be free from my memories
to be free of my pain
to be free from all negative thoughts
One day I hope I can truly be free
truly be free from the negative thoughts and memories
truly be free from this pain
I hope there will be a day I wont have to slit my wrist to feel free
