On the other side of tomorrow
There stands a man
Lonely and forgotten
On the other side of yesterday
There stands a woman
Rejected and alone
On the other side of today
The man and woman meet
Clasp hands and dance away
But on this side of tomorrow
The man keeps walking
Keeps talking on his phone
On this side of yesterday
The woman hails a taxi
Which quickly speeds away
On this side of today
A child has
No mother and no father
Last week’s one night stand.
