Is The Risk Worth Taking?

What is life? I would say I don't deserve it, but that would be a lie, for who decides who deserves life?
I would say I don't deserve love, but that would be a lie, for who decides who deserves love?
I would say I don't deserve happiness, but that would be a lie, for who decides who deserves happiness?
No one. No one decides these things, for those who try are corrupt. Each must decide on their own.
It is not that I do not deserve these things. It is that I do not want them.
A life to live is a precious gift, but a life to live in fear and paranoia is but a twisted copy of what it could have been.
A love to be shared is equally precious, but a love that is hesitant and afraid of commitment, of loss and rejection is but a mangled corpse of what it should have been.
Happiness, something to be divided among all, seems to pick and choose whom it shines its light upon, and those left from its glow wallow in its shadows until they are naught but shadows themselves.
Ask yourself, What do you deserve?
Ask yourself, Is the risk worth taking?
It all comes down to You.
