Lacking
I wish I was older, smarter, nicer,
Whichever you need.
How the doctors do it,
I don’t know.
I want to help you,
Believe me,
I do.
I can’t understand it,
Why must it all fall on you?
My optimism seems silly,
It passes right through you.
If only I knew what to say,
I keep trying,
It’s all I can do.
When its too much,
We can both cry.
I’ll hold your hand forever,
And never get it right.
I’m sorry I’m so clueless.
