Where did the time go?
It was only yesterday I was 8 years old
I always thought I had all the time in the world.
Time to waste time to hold
Looking back when did I get so old?
How did I get here?
It went so fast
So many things I wanted to last

Through the years which felt like days
I’ve experienced love
Love which came with pain
I have grieved
Grieved from death
I have laughed
Laughed so hard the tears wouldn’t subside
I found joy in little things
I made sure to hold on as long as I could

I lived my life to the fullest
But it still went to fast
We all have so much left to do
So many things left to say
No matter how old I get
I’m still that little girl

I look in the mirror
Wrinkles and some gray
Time has done a number I must say
I know though when god brings me home it will be ok

We all share the same fate
We’ll all meet at the same gate
We all want more time
Time to waste time to hold
We all want to be that 8 year old

Time flies so fast
We all want our timeless memories to last
All I can ask?
When did I get so old?
