I chose the lesser of two evils
Guessing it'd hurt less all the while,
It cost my soul and all my strength reserved strictly to smile.
I walk this road on puppet strings
Pretending things are fine,
Along the way i came across
A creation so divine.
The daughter of a madman
In her garden oh so green,
The breezes always cradled her,
The ait surround so serene.
Her crimson lips and deep blue eyes
Spelt aphrodite in the flesh,
her fair hair cascading downward
Seemed so primal, nothing less.
Within the confines of this garden,
Her madman father cast a spell;
This fruitful patch was poisonous,
From afar no one could tell.
From the trees no one could eat
and from the earth no one could pick,
All stare but no one dares
To go inside of it.
All inquire why this man would
Go to such extremes,
His child was an experiment
That had gone wrong you see.
She herself was poisonous,
come in contact and you die.
The madman tried to help her
To sustain this way of life.
In a garden made special for her,
she could frolic, dance and play,
But the loneliness had made her weaker
With the passing of each day.
The isolation made it so she would not fall in love,
It's impossible to fall for what you'd kill with just one touch.
One day there came a soul
Brave enough to bear the pain
Of this fast acting poison
Simply moving through his veins.
Yes, I walked through this garden
with my head held way up high,
And i made it towards this girl
Even in knowing i would die.
I chose the lesser of two evils
Guessing it'd hurt less
All the while,
But i'm running out of options
And my time is running out.
She takes me by my hand
And says we'd have only but
An hour,
we ran among the garden,
Hand in hand,
Two hidden flowers.
We hid from Grim so evil
In the canopies way up high,
Hoping he would not find us
And i wouldn't have to die.
Ilooked at her she looked at me
and began to softly cry;
I told my love she set me free
And she let out a sigh.
Unearthly whispers slowed my heart
and shadows cradled me;
Love is once and then it's gone
And in my death she'd see.
With love, you pick your poison,
Pardoning it's silent blows,
With death there is no wagering,
Thats how the story goes.
My heartstrings became entangled
As death's twisten marionette,
He tugged on them like
Puppet strings;
The madman's daughter wept.
I chose the lesser of two evils
Guessing it'd hurt less
All the while,
It cost my soul
And all the strength reserved strictly to smile.
I walk this road on puppet strings
Pretending things are fine,
Along the way i came across
A creation so divine.
