Sea Sisters
I know we were once a week sisters
Endless fun in a sea of silly laughter
While our mothers chatted on the sand
You were my role model
And my blond-haired reflection
But I wonder what you would call us now
These fuzzy memories are old movies
with a genuine laugh track on repeat
Now we try to slip into
The carefree aqua ocean of our childhood selves
And smell the salty fresh air
But we seem to be stuck
In the quicksand of polite conversation
Has that quenching ocean dried up?
Please tell me it's just low tide.
