Laced, Unlaced. Lace me up tight.
Draw my body in and tie those strings right
Laced, Unlaced. Find a corset I can wear
Tie it tight so I can't breathe, I don't really need air.
Laced, Unlaced. I'm trapped between steel bones
Tie it tighter, tighter still. If it's too tight you'll never know.
Laced, Unlaced. Learn to catch my breath
Tighter I draw in the strings, until there's no strings left
Laced, Unlaced. A smaller size I'll need
For my laces are not tight. Not tight enough indeed.
Laced, Unlaced. My waist becomes so small
And I say “Tighter still!” Until I have no waist at all
Laced, Unlaced. These strings stop right here
But no smaller size exists, for I have disappeared.
