Where I'm From

I am from climbing out the window and sitting on the roof,
from Mug rootbeer and taking lots of pictures.
I am from bazooka bubblegum, and
a little yellow house in Maine.
I am from blackberry tangles in the woods,
large moss covered rocks,
a horses' neigh,
lots of kittens,
and an old spotted dog.
I am from a cracked concrete road,
and daffodils growing in the garden.

I am from going to Augusta for a parade
picking up candy that was thrown my way.
I am from blonde hair and being sweet,
grabbing attention from everyone I meet.
From, "I love you, Miss Renae," and
"God Bless the USA."
I'm from Sunday morning service,
it makes me feel renewed.
Red raspberries, and maple syrup,
from acorn whistles,
and a tin roof.

I am from a small library,
a tiny school,
a big family.
I am from patience and hugs
and butterfly kisses.
I am from fireflies that dance on the air,
and lots of smiles that I carry everywhere.
I am from picnics and walks, and never having to stop,
from sunshine and love, and faith I won't drop.
I am from being happy, being me,
staying healthy, and forever free.
